Position Objective:
The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer leads projects consisting of analysis, development, and validation of manufacturing processes to be used in the production facilities. Will have oversight of equipment and process definition for specified business segment. Conduct research and develop new production methods by applying knowledge of product design, industrial automation, assembly, tooling, and materials. Serve as a mentor for the less experienced Engineering staff members.
Key Accountabilities:
Process Engineering (20%)
  • Define, evaluate, and/or improve manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency.
  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for industrial machinery or equipment.
  • Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, such as framework for machinery, drives, and metal parts for production machinery.
  • Develop a layout and plan sequence of operations for process design.
  • Assist Product Management with ensuring proper design for manufacturing.

Process Definition (20%)
  • Communicate with vendors and customers to understand and determine product specifications.
  • Generate new and modify existing drawings using Autodesk products.
  • Develop standard operation procedures for new equipment and other technical documentation needed for production.
  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.
  • Oversee process sign-off of manufacturing processes in each plant.

Safety (20%)
  • Participates and promotes the core value of safety.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Define safety checklist and Lock out Tag out (LOTO) for new manufacturing and modified equipment.

Project Management (40%)
  • Responsible for Project Management - mentoring and overseeing projects from start to finish while meeting deadlines as defined.
  • Communicate as subject matter expert and exchange ideas in an open forum for all levels within the organization.
  • Overseeing the capital budget and spending on project.

Requirements
Position Requirements:
  1. Bachelors Degree (B.S) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent;
  2. 6-Sigma Black Belt strongly desired;
  3. Minimum of 5 years' combined experience working in the fields of Process Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, and/or Operations Management;
  4. Working knowledge of all shop equipment including but not limited to lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, saws, and welders;
  5. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods;
  6. Working knowledge of servo motors/drives, and AC/DC VFD's;
  7. Proficient in MS Office applications, Autodesk Auto CAD, Inventor for 3D design and modeling;
  8. Statistical process control methodology;
  9. Ability to collect and analyze data, define areas of opportunities, and implement appropriate counter measures;
  10. Overseer of equipment design, build, installations, and startup;
  11. Electrical, Mechanical, and Pneumatic design, troubleshooting and repair;
  12. Automation Controls.
