Talis Group’s client is a leading manufacturer of mechanical tools and equipment for the consumer industry and dedicated to innovation, quality, and sustainability. With a strong commitment to serving their customers, our client continuously strives to develop cutting-edge products that enhance productivity and efficiency. The client is hiring a talented and motivated Product Design Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development of new products and the enhancement of existing ones. Working cross-functionally with various teams, the Product Design Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of new product development, from conceptualization to production.

Highlighted Duties:
  • Develop new products and implement changes to existing products, ensuring they meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and sales throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Create comprehensive bill of materials (BOM) and documentation to support manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with the team to conduct prototype testing and validation, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage the design and redesign process, ensuring project deadlines and costs are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Assist in future product planning and mapping, identifying market trends and opportunities for innovation.
  • Provide specification support for all product related technical materials.
  • Participate in tradeshows as needed.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 years of product design and development.
  • Must have 3D product design experience (SolidWorks, Creo, etc).
    Consumer product design experience preferred.
  • Experience with sheet metal, welded assemblies, plastics a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and disciplines.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials, with a focus on cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a keen interest in emerging technologies and industry trends.
