POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, and performance analysis of Alaska Communications' product portfolio and product catalog systems. This role partners closely with Product Managers, IT, Sales, Customer Support, Operations, vendors, and other business stakeholders to ensure accurate product setup, pricing, packaging, and service availability across ACS platforms.
The Product Analyst serves as the primary operational resource and subject matter expert for product catalog management, translating business requirements into system configurations and product catalog changes. This role is responsible for implementing, testing, validating, and deploying product catalog updates while ensuring data integrity, configuration accuracy, and adherence to established business rules and processes.
In addition, the Product Analyst provides product performance reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and business insights to support product strategy, lifecycle management, and operational decision-making. The role also supports the implementation and ongoing evolution of ACS product catalog platforms, including collaboration with vendors and participation in system testing and transformation initiatives. Success in this position requires strong analytical abilities, technical aptitude, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple cross-functional teams.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for ACS product catalog systems.
  • Own the setup, maintenance, and governance of product catalog data including products, packages, pricing, service attributes, and availability rules.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into product catalog designs and system configurations.
  • Work with external vendors, where needed, to communicate product catalog requirements and validate system designs and builds in test environments.
  • Configure, implement, and test product catalog changes within development and test environments, obtaining required approvals prior to production deployment.
  • Execute approved product catalog changes within current and future product catalog systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve product catalog discrepancies, system issues, and data quality concerns.
  • Support implementation, testing, validation, and user acceptance activities associated with ACS's future Product Catalog platform and related system transformations.
  • Partner with Product Managers to produce ad-hoc product performance analyses, reports, and queries supporting strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide product catalog support and guidance to Sales, Customer Support, and other stakeholders regarding product setup, pricing, availability, and configuration questions.
  • Respond to inquiries and troubleshoot issues related to product catalog configurations and product availability.
  • Maintain accurate records of product catalog configurations, business rules, testing results, and implementation documentation.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Business Administration, or Engineering. Equivalent education and training may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, Sales, IT, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent field, with a minimum of one (1) year in the telecommunications industry. Experience managing product catalog configurations in BSS/OSS systems or similar software systems. Experience with IT change management & SOX controls for product change management. Experience documenting processes in Visio/Lucid Chart/or similar tool using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN).
Computer Skills: Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
