About Midwest Cards
Midwest Cards is Central Ohio's premier trading card and memorabilia destination, located in Columbus' Arena District just steps from Nationwide Arena. We serve collectors both in our retail store and lounge and through a fast-growing e-commerce business that ships nationwide — carrying sports cards, Pokémon and other trading card games, sealed product, singles, graded cards, memorabilia, and supplies. New product drops constantly, and our customers count on us to have it listed accurately and fast.
About the Role
The Product Catalog Merchandiser owns how products come to life in our catalog — from creation and validation in NetSuite to the accuracy of every detail and image a customer sees. In a category where releases are frequent and product configurations are intricate, this role keeps our catalog fast, complete, and trustworthy. You'll also partner directly with our AI Development Lead to make the entire product-creation process smarter and more scalable, putting modern AI tools to work on real operational problems. This is a detail-obsessed, process-driven role for someone who knows the hobbyand wants to build the system behind a best-in-class catalog.
What You'll Own
- Product creation and validation in NetSuite. Own the end-to-end process of building new product records in NetSuite, validating each one against source data, and serving as the gatekeeper for what goes live. Set products up correctly the first time and on time for release dates.
- Accuracy and completeness of product information. Ensure every product record is complete and correct — titles, descriptions, categories, pricing, identifiers (SKU/UPC), attributes, and configuration details. Audit existing listings, catch errors before customers do, and uphold consistent catalog standards across the assortment.
- Visual assets for product pages. Assist with and coordinate product photography and image management so every product page has clean, accurate, on-brand visuals — correctly matched to the right product and meeting quality and format specs.
- Process optimization with the AI Development Lead. Work directly with our AI Development Lead to streamline and automate the product-creation workflow. Pilot, test, and refine AI-assisted processes (including tools like Claude) for data entry, enrichment, and quality checks — improving speed without sacrificing accuracy.
What You Bring
- Extreme attention to detail. You notice the wrong pack count, a transposed release year, or a mismatched image instantly. Accuracy isn't a goal for you — it's a reflex.
- A solution-oriented mindset with hands-on AI experience (Claude). You're comfortable using AI platforms like Claude to solve problems and improve how work gets done, and you bring a proactive, experimental approach to finding better processes.
- Data analysis skills. You can work confidently with spreadsheets and data sets — spotting patterns and anomalies, reconciling sources, and using data to drive catalog quality and process improvements.
- Knowledge of trading cards and their configurations. You understand sports cards and/or TCGs and how products are structured: sets, parallels, and inserts; cards per pack, packs per box, and boxes per case; hobby vs. retail vs. blaster, and the differences that matter to collectors.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP, PIM, or e-commerce catalog system
- Background in e-commerce, merchandising, or catalog/data operations
- Basic product photography or photo-editing ability
- Familiarity with all types of trading cards and how they are configured
What Success Looks Like
- New releases go live accurate, complete, and on or before their street dates.
- Catalog error rates trend down and product data becomes cleaner and more standardized over time.
- The time and effort required to create each product steadily decreases as AI-assisted workflows mature.
