Eagle Technologies, LLC (Newport News, VA) is seeking a qualified Purchasing Assistant. Eagle Technologies is a small veteran-owned business who designs and manufactures airframe components for the aerospace industry, with a niche in rotor blade and prop blade development. We are an AS9100 Rev C certified company offering engineering design, analysis, testing and manufacturing in both composites and aerospace metals. Compensation: Salary commensurate with background and direct experience
Ideal candidate will be able to perform the following Essential Functions
Essential Functions:
  • Efficiently manage and execute the purchase of raw materials, off-the-shelf components, and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved.
  • Reviewing forecasting reports to ensure inventory levels are maintained appropriately.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, obtain appropriate approval, and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Issuing, updating, and tracking purchase orders (Pos) and change orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Handle accounting functions associated with vendor accounts, such as reconciling aging and researching vendor accounts.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with internal teams and external vendors to determine cause of problems and take corrective and preventative action.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with company requirements for quality, safety, and delivery.
  • Expediting product as needed, coordinating with suppliers and customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Strong business acumen and collaborative input for better influence of strategic thinking that align with business operations and production.
  • Self-motivated, with demonstrated sense of urgency, and ownership of tasks
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • High proficiency in internet search techniques and online databases
  • Experience in procurement of raw materials or manufacturing preferred

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with Microsoft office products
  • Familiar with Sage 50 or similar accounting software preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience preferred.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Successful candidate will be persistent with suppliers and seek assistance as needed from management to help meet deadlines

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in a related field with background in procurement preferred not required
  • Must be a US Citizen
