Job Description Summary:
At Amphenol Energy Technologies, the Procurement Planner is a key driver in keeping our production floor running smoothly and our customers satisfied. This role blends strategic production planning with hands-on procurement execution to ensure we have the right materials, in the right place, at the right time. You'll be at the center of coordinating schedules, aligning cross-functional teams, and anticipating supply chain needs to keep manufacturing moving without interruption. By optimizing master production schedules, material flows, and supplier performance, you'll directly support on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.
Knowledge / Skills:
  • Strong understanding of production planning and master scheduling principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to translate demand forecasts and production requirements into actionable procurement and production schedules
  • Working knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage demand, inventory, and supply alignment
  • Familiarity with manufacturing workflows, bill of materials (BOM), and routing processes, preferably in cable assembly or interconnect industries
  • Ability to develop and manage production schedules to support on-time delivery and minimize bottlenecks or material shortages
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, quality, supply chain) to align scheduling and procurement strategies
  • Strong analytical skills to identify gaps in material flow, capacity, or supplier performance and implement corrective actions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications / Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field
  • Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software, such as ERP systems
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships with suppliers

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain integrated production and procurement schedules to support customer delivery commitments and manufacturing priorities.
  • Create and manage master production schedules (MPS) and material requirements plans (MRP) to align demand with capacity and material availability.
  • Collaborate with Operations (Production), Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align schedules, address constraints, and plan ahead for material needs.
  • Analyze forecasts, inventory levels, and work orders to plan and release purchase requisitions in line with production schedules.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, components, and subassemblies.
  • Monitor and adjust production schedules proactively to address changes in demand, capacity, or supply.
  • Maintain accurate lead times, order quantities, and safety stock levels to support a stable production flow.
  • Process and track purchase orders, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with scheduling requirements in ERP systems.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to delivery, quality, and cost targets.
  • Lead or participate in daily and weekly production planning meetings to review priorities, risks, and recovery plans.
  • Identify and resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and supply disruptions to maintain on-time delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in planning and procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
  • Office on-site North Houston manufacturing facility.
  • Domestic and international travel to engage with customers and audit suppliers.
