About The Role
We are seeking a Project Manager to support a specialized contractor in the power generation and industrial electrical sector. This role oversees projects from initial scope evaluation through safe and successful completion. The position requires extensive client interaction to clarify requirements, provide ongoing updates, and ensure project milestones are met. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility, and largely on-site role involving approximately 75% travel. Success in this role requires strong project management experience, exceptional communication abilities, financial acumen, safety leadership, and a high degree of confidentiality.
Job Description
In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of nuclear and industrial electrical projects, ensuring safe, on-schedule, and on-budget execution. You will coordinate closely with clients, internal teams, owners, and subcontractors while managing project scope, estimates, schedules, risk, documentation, and close-out activities. This position includes extensive travel, on-site management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout each project phase.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform site walk-downs and evaluate RFQ opportunities as assigned
  • Support proposal development by creating scope of work and proposal content for resource planning, budgeting, and execution
  • Coordinate and monitor transmission of submittals and approvals internally and between clients and subcontractors
  • Oversee project activities and communication among clients/owners, subcontractors, and internal personnel
  • Manage and document scope of work, schedules, budgets, change orders, and technical specifications
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, company policies, procedures, and contractual requirements
  • Lead project close-out activities, including reconciliation, lessons learned, and final reporting
  • Collaborate across functional teams to define scope, cost, and schedule; establish baselines; identify risks; and monitor/report on performance
  • Provide on-site project management and travel as required (approx. 75%)
  • Supervise and provide leadership to project management administrative staff, including training, coaching, performance feedback, and employee development
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Support ISO 9001 initiatives by recommending process improvements and participating in audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions
  • Maintain availability for variable work schedules based on project needs, including responding to calls unless pre-approved for time off
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5–7 years of experience in the power generation services or industrial electrical industry
  • 3–5 years of onsite construction project management with P&L responsibility
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Experience leading union personnel
  • Ability to gain unescorted access to nuclear facilities
  • Proficiency with project estimating and project management software
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint/server file management
  • Expert-level blueprint reading
  • Exceptional math, organization, analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet critical deadlines
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to professionally represent company values with strong business ethics
  • Detail-oriented and able to communicate diplomatically with customers, suppliers, and employees
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
