Job description

The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a Business Process Improvement Manager to focus on analyzing and optimizing the company's operations to enhance efficiency and productivity. Involves methods to discover, model, analyze, measure, improve, and optimize business strategy and processes.

This is a full-time position located at our Paris, KY office.

What we're looking for:

  • Education:Bachelors degree in Engineering or related area.

  • Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years related experience.

  • Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to dissect a problem into manageable components, develop recommendations, implement solutions.
  • Has expertise in the areas of: 5S, SMED, TPM, VSM, PDCA or equivalent, A3 Problem Solving, Visual Factory.
  • Knowledge of inventory management solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written and presentation skills to all levels of an organization).
  • Intermediate project management skills (ability and experience managing 10-15 projects at a time).
  • The ability to work within a team environment and clearly communicate individual objectives.
  • Microsoft Office Software - intermediate to advanced skill level (Power Point, Excel, Visio, Project, Word).
  • Knowledge of or experience with the following e-business solutions/tools is a plus: Avantor.com; Inventory management technologies; Chemical tracking and management technologies.

  • Directs the activities of others within projects, ensuring alignment with best practices, organizational goals, and industry benchmarks.
  • Works on complex problems requiring an in-depth evaluation of multiple variable factors, including resource allocation, regulatory adherence, and technology integrations.
  • Adapts precedents and may make departures from traditional approaches to develop innovative solutions that streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Communicates with and influences senior management, providing insights into process optimization strategies, automation frameworks, and efficiency-driven cost reductions.
  • Enhances relationships and networks with senior internal and external partners who may not be familiar with process improvement methodologies, often requiring persuasive communication to align stakeholders with strategic objectives.
  • Develops, updates, and owns site Operational Excellence processes, metrics and any associated tools ensuring standard work alignment as well as facilitating site's Productivity Improvements to achieve targeted financial impact.
  • Responsible for CI Framework elements training, including anticipating needs and developing training strategies, developing and updating training materials, tracking the effectiveness of the training programs including change management and CI culture.
  • Outlines and operationalizes models (process, tools, and governance) rooted in continuous improvement principles to drive productivity projects execution.
  • Leverages data and metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and productivity; provide recommended solutions that drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the change management process or enhance business processes.
  • Develops and manages communications around lessons learned to support the change management process.

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

  • Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
