Job description

Eaton's Commercial Product & Assemblies (CPA) division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer. This role can be located at our Sumter, SC or El Paso, TX manufacturing sites and relocation is available for US candidates.
The primary function of this role is to support the continuous improvement of the Front End Engineering processes and methods for our Engineered-to-Order (ETO) product lines (panelboards and switchboards). This position collaborates closely with various order engineering and design systems and support teams within the Commercial Product & Assemblies (CPA) division. The incumbent will help to drive (1) process improvement and alignment across the division, (2) utilization, feedback, and KPIs of our engineering and automation tools, (3) validation support for monthly systems enhancements, and (4) SOP creation and revisions as a result of CI efforts. The role requires an understanding of ETO systems and processes including Bid Manager, MI Manager, Design Automation, DCMS, POM, ENOVIA, AutoCAD, and other network-based tools.
Essential Functions
A. Lead projects related to improvement and development of Product Line Systems and ETO tools while closely interacting with various users and stakeholders, providing feedback to engineering leaders, and assisting with development of SOPs and training.
B. Collaborate with CPA's Front End Engineering teams and subject matter experts on strategic initiatives related to business process improvements, engineering error reduction and driving alignment with systems and processes.
C. Drive user-centered enhancement requests to Bid Manager and Design Automation tools to improve reliability, accuracy and efficiency, supporting the automation goals of the division.
D. Participating in systems related design reviews and initiatives to ensure visibility and alignment across the division with planned changes and enhancements.
E. Participate in product line meetings on Front End Systems projects and continuous improvement activities, driving best practices and knowledge sharing across the various teams (engineering, design and systems)
F. Manage large projects to completion meeting key milestones within deadlines with limited supervision
G. Embrace and drive a continuous improvement work environment, challenging the status quo to drive business process improvements that will lead towards more autonomous work.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years of applicable engineering experience with engineered-to-order (ETO) products and configuration tools and/or technical project management with demonstrated experience with tools (Example:Bid Manager, MI Manager, Design Automation, DCMS, Plant Order Manager and Pick Work Bench)

• Travel - 10 to 15% may be required to other Eaton locations
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
• Wokring experience with Continuous Improvement, LEAN, or other OPEX process improvement methodologies
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• Ability to interpret both customer specifications and electrical and mechanical drawings (customer and plant).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and PowerBI.

• This position is responsible for CI initiatives of front-end systems and processes for the CPA division within the general direction of management.

• The incumbent must be controlled under pressure and requires the ability to think logically.
• The incumbent must be well organized to meet deadlines across multiple concurrent projects keeping track of action items and key milestones
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
