Position Summary

The Process Engineering Manager develops, evaluates and implements the new and existing process technologies at various locations of Gates Corporation facilities to support the engineering and local factory operations. This position is expected to be a part of a global approach for leading a team in designing and executing experiments to characterize and optimize manufacturing processes in power transmission and fluid power segments. This position is expected to lead a team in developing and scaling processes for initial stage products and is expected to provide technical support for manufacturing operations and business development. This position is a leadership role and responsible for developing and coaching direct team members, employee development and fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and ability to advance group goals to meet company objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads the transfer, adaptation, and optimization of manufacturing processes across Gates Corporation manufacturing facilities, ensuring equivalent performance outcomes while accounting for variations in equipment, materials, and site-specific constraints.
  • Execution of experiments and trials and ensure proper documentation of process standards, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the process engineering team

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar.

The position must ensure:

  • Adherence to Gates code of conduct & ethics. Shall set an example as a role model for his team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational, and work habits.
  • To maintain and improve the 6-S standards in his area of work and in work zones for which he is assigned ownership.
  • To ensure compliance with HSE standards as stated in the policy in his area of work. As a responsible employee of the organization, the individual must bring to the attention of the safety committee any unsafe practice/working conditions in the facility, in external warehouses
  • Ensuring that the vendors also have good HSE practices, comply with all statuary requirements and do not employee child labor.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar industry is highly desirable.
  • Prior leadership or managerial experience preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support global teams.
  • Travel required for this position is approximately 25+%

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able to lead cross-functional teams
  • Must possess excellent project management, analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills 
  • Well-developed analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a working knowledge of business activities.
  • Proficient at determining the processes necessary to get things accomplished; knows how to organize people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow; knows what to measure and how to measure it; can see opportunities for synergy and integration; can simplify complex processes; and gets more out of fewer resources
  • Capable of leading large-scale project work utilizing project management skills and tools
  • Strong knowledge and experience in manufacturing process and procedures including advanced knowledge of manufacturing techniques, quality procedures, and information systems
  • Familiar with processes that manufacture hydraulics and power transmission type of products
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning processes including developing and implementing manufacturing footprint programs.

Pay & Benefits

  • Full-Time
  • Salary: $135,000-$150,000
  • Bonus Eligible: 10%
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire     
  • Eligible 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued 
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
