Job description

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer is responsible for leading Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP), advancing process engineering initiatives, and delivering operations business analytics that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity at the Springville Plant. The role partners with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and site leadership to identify opportunities, validate performance drivers, and implement sustainable improvements.
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
  • Actively support the development of a vibrant Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture across the site by expanding 6S practices. Support the growth of HSE programs, execute improvement activities, and facilitate cultural change to drive achievement of all HSE objectives.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement, Lean/OPEX, 6S, problem-solving, and daily-management initiatives that improve throughput, reduce quality errors, and strengthen HSE performance.
  • Evaluate production and transactional processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements with production and operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain operational analytics, including KPI dashboards, trend analyses, capacity/utilization reporting, cost-reduction tracking, and performance reporting for site leadership.
  • Use data to identify root causes, quantify improvement opportunities, monitor results, and sustain corrective actions using DMAIC, PDCA, RCCA, PFMEA, and DFMEA methods.
  • Define and manage CAPEX and automation projects; coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver improvements on time and within budget.
  • Standardize processes, support Management of Change, equipment validation, and product qualification activities across the facility.
  • Champion a Lean, data-driven operating culture consistent with Flowserve Values, Behaviors, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Drive the deployment of Lean and OPEX principles to continually analyze and improve all internal processes and controls to drive waste out of the system, shorten order shipment lead-times, and deliver greater value to customers.
  • Support Flowserve Operational Excellence initiatives by applying safety, 5S, daily management, strategy deployment, structured problem-solving, and Kaizen practices.
  • Partner across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and Project Management to identify, prioritize, and implement site improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards and performance reporting for certification status, warranty cost, scrap, quality escapes, complaints, rework, and other critical site KPIs.
  • Lead KPI reviews and data-based problem solving; connect operational performance to annual operating-plan and strategy-deployment objectives, track improvement benefits, and sustain results.
  • Ensure functional teams are leveraging OPEX training and coaching opportunities and fostering a Lean culture through on-going OPEX projects, problem solving methods, and daily work management systems.
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to the Flowserve Values and Behaviors, driving a culture of high-performance in the way we think, act, and operate. Maintain strict adherence to the Flowserve Code of Conduct.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Process, Quality, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience in continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, process engineering, or operations analytics.
  • Strong analytical, root-cause problem-solving, project-management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to translate operational data into actionable recommendations, measurable business cases, and leadership-ready reporting.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: .
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training.
  • Experience in CNC machining, automation, PLC/HMI/process-control technologies, mechatronics, and engineered-to-order manufacturing.
  • Experience with value-stream mapping, supply-chain management, business intelligence tools, data visualization, dashboard development, and manufacturing data systems.
