About the Role

Jedson Engineering is seeking an experienced Process Mechanical Engineer to support projects within the Heavy Industrial sector, primarily serving the metals, minerals/mining, and cement industries. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who thrives in both design and field environments and enjoys working closely with production and operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop process and mechanical engineering designs for Heavy Industrial manufacturing systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Conduct on-site assessments as needed to gather data, validate designs, troubleshoot issues, and support installation or commissioning activities.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, equipment specifications, P&IDs, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers, project managers, and plant personnel to ensure project success.
  • Support project planning, schedule coordination, and design reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, and Jedson Engineering work processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process mechanical engineering within Heavy Industrial industry.
  • Experience in metals, minerals/mining, and/or cement plants.
  • Experience with bulk material handling & conveyance; crushing, grinding & size reduction; mineral processing & separation; slurry, water & process fluid systems; pyroprocessing & thermal systems; dust collection & environmental systems; and metals processing systems.
  • Proficiency with engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, Fathom, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and field troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a consulting engineering or EPC environment.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) within the metals, minerals/mining, or cement industries.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
