As a Process Support Engineer (PSE), you'll play a critical role in guiding products through their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to final qualification. You will provide high-visibility customer support through on-site installations, system diagnoses, and the service and repair of complex systems and equipment. PSEs work closely with customers and R&D teams to develop leading-edge processes used to manufacture advanced semiconductor chips, and create hypothesis experiments and design of experiments (DOEs). You'll analyze data with statistics and compile reports with high-level conclusions on technically challenging process engineering experiments. Additionally, you will troubleshoot complex problems, perform root cause analyses, and resolve difficult process engineering and customer product issues. Process Support Engineers work across technologies such as:Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal and Implant.

Key Responsibilities

Leads end-to-end execution of semiconductor process ramp activities, ensuring alignment to defined acceptance criteria, schedule, and performance targets.

  • Owns coordination of process support engineer site-level qualification and ramp workflow, including schedule development and progress tracking
  • Drives daily coordination with cross-functional teams including field service, process engineering, manufacturing, and customer stakeholders
  • Leads ramp readiness and pre-flight activities, ensuring all requirements are met prior to tool startup and qualification
  • Coordinates hardware & process matching activities including data collection, analysis, and configuration alignment
  • Manages documentation deliverables including startup reports and special request tracking
  • Maintains accurate reporting in enterprise systems, ensuring visibility to ramp progress and resource alignment
  • Identifies risks to schedule, yield, or performance and drives mitigation plans with cross-functional teams
  • Serves as the first point of contact for site-level escalations, coordinating resolution across engineering, service, and customer teams
  • Supports transition to customer qualification and high volume manufacturing (HVM) sustaining activities, including implementation of process improvements and yield enhancements
  • Contributes to post-mortem reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ramp efficiency and standardization

Key Relationships

  • Works closely with Process Ramp Manager for alignment on scope, priorities, and escalation handling
  • Interfaces daily with customer engineering and operations teams
  • Collaborates with global process teams, field service organization, and business unit stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams and maintain clear documentation and communication of complex technical activities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
  • 3-5+ years of experience in semiconductor process engineering, equipment qualification, or ramp execution
  • Strong understanding of process qualification frameworks, technical specifications, and statistical matching methodologies
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a customer-facing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules, competing priorities, and technical risk
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-site ramp execution or large-scale fab startups
  • Experience working directly with semiconductor customers in HVM environments
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced technical environments while maintaining strong customer alignment

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
