Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer

Location: West Columbia, SC

Hire Type: Contract to Hire

Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:30p - 12a

Pay Range: $35-$40/hr depending on experience

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support and enhance production operations through the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for candidates with strong technical aptitude, manufacturing experience, and a passion for driving efficiency, product quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.


Job Duties:

  • Design manufacturing processes that meet schedule, cost, and quality goals.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to enhance throughput and reduce waste.
  • Analyze workflow, space utilization, and labor requirements to design efficient workstations and production layouts.
  • Collaborate with production teams on product design and tooling needs to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency.
  • Interface with customers to review product specifications, manage design changes, and respond to engineering requests.
  • Estimate production times, staffing needs, and associated costs to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Work closely with engineering, management, and production teams to align capabilities with production schedules and operational goals.
  • Apply statistical methods to predict manufacturing requirements, analyze performance, and support process optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in a related field or equivalent technical experience/training required.
  • Experience requirements vary by level (entry to senior):
  • Entry Level: 0–3 years
  • Mid Level: 3–8 years
  • Senior Level: 8–10+ years
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience with testing tools such as oscilloscopes, harness testers, or logic analyzers is beneficial.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to diagnose and resolve production issues.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, PLC programming, or robotics is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
