Position Summary:

Our pursuit of continuous improvement and Operational Excellence is supported by the Program Management Office (PMO). Related core services provided by our Business Excellence Team are strategic and operational analysis, implementation of Lean methodologies and tools as well as the definition of process and standards. Coaching a team of Process Engineers and leading continuous improvement initiatives, the design, operation, standardization and control of processes is the responsibility of the Lead Process Engineer.ย ย Managed and guided by the Program Management the Lead Process Engineer consults with internal & external stakeholders in various organizations. Function as an in-house process driver and coach of matrixed operating department. Define need or problem, gather and analyze data, and advise recommended course of action. Perform process redesign and organization analysis studies to promote efficient and effective development of new generation vessels and current fleet modernization. Assist Program Management with development, implementation and maintenance of Lean methodologies and tools.ย ย 

The Programย is aimedย to improve business performance across the department portfolio. This role willย useย advanceย planning, workflow methods, riskย managementย and quality management to support the program (& project)ย objectives.ย Furthermore, provide expertise and best practice implementationย with regard toย the processย improvement discipline.ย 

ย 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach Process Engineers responsible for Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement initiatives,ย workshopsย and projectsย ย 
  • Define and lead process development, improvement and standardization across Program and Project Management according to Lean Philosophyย ย 
  • Lead and drive development of Lean methods and tools for customer requirements and critical process featuresย ย 
  • Lead, organize, moderate and document internal and external program-related workshops to improve processes, plan and execute projects, and manage changesย ย ย 
  • Consult with Program and Project Management on alternative solutions to address needs or problems and recommend specific optionsย ย 
  • Apply analytical techniques to drive process improvements, including quality improvement, cost reduction or revenue enhancement, and improved delivery servicesย ย 
  • Determineย root causes of defects in performance through data analysis,ย decompositionย and process observationย ย 
  • Utilize industrial engineering principles to evaluate work methods and develop recommendationsย ย 
  • Lead the implementation of a feedback culture, drive actions, and incorporate feedback intoย future plansย ย 
  • Monitor strategic and operational KPIs toย identifyย opportunities for improvementย ย 
  • Reviewย departmentย knowledge andย identifyย process benchmarks inside and outside the maritime industryย ย 
  • Collaborateย with counterparts in other business areasย

Education:

  • Bachelor's orย Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management, or equivalent fieldย ย 
  • Minimum 7 years of related work experienceย ย 
  • Lean Management Green Belt certification preferredย ย 
  • Project management experience (PMP) is a plusย 

General Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of Windows-based PCsย ย 
  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft Excel,ย Wordย and PowerPoint; MS Project or equivalent planning tool is a plusย ย 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and managementย ย 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and prioritiesย ย
