Whether you're an experienced professional, a recent college graduate or somewhere in between, IDEX is a place where you can apply your existing skills and learn new ones in an environment where you can make an impact.

With interesting opportunities in engineering, marketing, sales, supply chain, operations, HR, finance, and more across more than 40 diverse businesses around the globe, chances are, we have something special for you.

Mission of the Position: The Process Engineer, Aerospace & Defense will partner with project engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to industrialize new product builds from prototype through production. This hands-on role will define manufacturable process flows, establish bills of material, create process controls, and develop the documentation needed to support first-time builds, production transfers, and scalable manufacturing execution.

Company: Mott is a technology-driven, high-precision filtration company trusted by the world's best technical and performance brands across four core markets: Medicine, Computing Power, Clean Energy, and Space Exploration. Our products can be found everywhere...including lifesaving medical devices, artificial intelligence, and missions to Mars!

The company's strategic vision is to deliver technological breakthroughs where none currently exist. Established in 1959 and located in Farmington, Connecticut (90 miles from NYC and Boston), Mott's aerospace and defense business has grown 50% in the last two years and is poised for continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Define manufacturing routes, bills of material, and process flow plans for new Aerospace & Defense products from prototype through production release.

Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, control plans, standard work, and related manufacturing records to ensure repeatable, compliant builds.

Collaborate with Project Engineering and Supply Chain to evaluate design-for-manufacturability, optimize build parameters, and scale processes from one-off prototypes to production volumes.

Create and implement process controls that meet customer specifications, quality requirements, and internal performance expectations.

Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement projects that reduce lead time, improve quality, lower cost, and expand manufacturing capability.

Major Challenges

Balancing urgent development, customer, and production needs while maintaining focus on long-term process capability and strategic business growth.

Translating demanding customer specifications into stable, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes for high-performance Aerospace & Defense applications.

Ensuring manufacturing knowledge, process controls, and documentation transfer cleanly from development teams to production teams.

Expected Performance Outcomes

Create all required manufacturing documentation within two weeks of customer design approval to support timely and accurate product builds.

Transfer 4-6 development projects per year into production on schedule with complete documentation, defined process controls, and clear ownership.

Launch at least two process or product improvement initiatives annually to improve lead time, reduce cost, increase yield, or expand product capability.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; Master's degree preferred.

5+ years of process, manufacturing, or industrial engineering experience in an Aerospace & Defense, high-precision, regulated, or advanced manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing routes, bills of material, process detail sheets, standard work, control plans, FMEA documentation, and production readiness deliverables.

Experience with CAD modeling, fixture and tooling design, equipment specification, validation, or commissioning preferred.

Are you ready to join a different kind of company where our people, our culture, and our commitments are centered around providing trusted solutions that improve lives around the world?

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $112,700.00 - $169,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
