EyeSouth Partners ("EyeSouth") and its private equity sponsor Shore Capital Partners ("SCP") are seeking an M&A and Business Development Associate to support business development and corporate strategy. EyeSouth is an eye care services organization providing support services to practices in the South. Affiliated practices provide medical and surgical eye care services, including treatment for cataracts, corneal disease, glaucoma, disease of the retina and macula, oculoplastics and medical optometry. EyeSouth supports its affiliated practices and physician partners with strategic guidance, administrative resources, operating expertise and capital with an absolute focus on clinical quality and a patient-first culture. EyeSouth's affiliate network consists of 17 practices and ~118 doctors practicing at ~71 locations across 6 states, including Georgia, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Alabama.

The role will be based in Atlanta, GA at EyeSouth's corporate headquarters. The M&A and Business Development Associate will report to the Vice President of Business Development & Strategy and will have a high level of visibility and interaction with the rest of the executive management team. The platform is executing on a strategy to grow via a combination of add-on affiliations, de novos and organic growth initiatives. Since its founding in February 2017, EyeSouth has successfully closed 17 add-on affiliations and grown its employee base by more than 850% to approximately 1,150 total employees. EyeSouth aims to expand its M&A and business development strategy and continue this rapid but controlled growth with the addition of the M&A and Business Development Associate. SCP is a microcap-focused private equity fund in Chicago with more than $1 billion of AUM. SCP partners with entrepreneurs and industry executives to grow successful businesses and has made over 190 investments in the last eleven years.

The M&A and Business Development Associate will be responsible for supporting the execution of the platforms' add-on growth strategy. The individual will be directly involved in supporting the Business Development team leaders in developing a robust pipeline of affiliation targets, financial and operational analytics and modeling, and transaction diligence. The M&A and Business Development Associate will also be involved with supporting post-close integration of new affiliations and organic growth initiatives.

Position Summary
  • Participate as a member of the EyeSouth M&A and Business Development team
  • Support the execution of EyeSouth's acquisition process from initial opportunity screening through transaction closing
  • Lead and perform deal-related analysis, including financial modeling and due diligence review
  • Manage financial due diligence and support the executive team during the deal structuring/negotiations phase; work with legal counsel as required; interact with lenders as required
  • Develop in depth investment memorandums and present to senior management regarding rationale for acquisitions
  • Assist in the tracking of a robust pipeline of acquisition targets developed by the Business Development team leaders 
  • Generate scorecards evaluating add-on opportunities and summarize the information to the executive team in a concise manner
  • Aid in the execution of targeted organic business development initiatives
  • Work closely with the executive management team to assist in the development of presentation materials for meetings with the platforms' Board of Directors
  • Provide leadership toward additional value-added activities and support operational and departmental excellence
  • Maintain honest and ethical conduct at all time
