Where would you fit in?

As a member of the Sonovision Team, the technical writer has the responsibility of supporting the operations team.

A technical writer with Sonovision should:

  • Have an engineering background (mechanical, aerospace, electrical etc.) and/or hands-on experience in the aerospace maintenance field and/or significant experience/training in the technical publications field.
  • Experience with S1000D, ATA2200 and/or MIL-SPEC specifications is an asset.
  • Previous use and/or knowledge of Simplified English and SGML/XML would also be an asset.
  • Previous use and/or knowledge of Adobe Framemaker, Quicksilver and/or Arbortext Editor is an asset.

To develop technical documentation in terms of:

  • Using the applicable standards (i.e. ATA 100, 2200, S1000D or AG-006)
  • Having a sound technical knowledge base.
  • Working with the rest of the technical writing group to ensure that documents are delivered correct, on time and on budget.
  • Tracking financial performance of jobs (profitability & sales targets)
  • Providing efficient and timely delivery of quality deliverables to the customer
  • Providing timely and complete estimates and quotes for work to be performed.
  • Tracking resource management (ensuring jobs are assigned within department)
  • Tracking departmental and individual metrics.
  • Self-monitoring of performance and development
  • Developing quality processes and procedures
  • Practicing team building
  • Ensuring the core values of the Company are reflected by the values of the team.
