Job description

Salary:

As our manufacturing operation is preparing for rapid growth, we are in need of a Production Manager to oversee robot production. The incumbent will be the point of contact for high quality manufacturing and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing and lean methodologies. You are passionate about continuous improvement and enjoy setting up processes and analyzing costs to ensure our manufacturing operations are running as efficiently as possible. You have previously managed manufacturing teams in robotics, electrical vehicles, or similar systems. You will be responsible for establishing quality control measures, cost saving initiatives and scaling the department as the demand from our product increases in the marketplace.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage production team and master build schedule; ensure that production resources are utilized efficiently
  • Work with supply chain team to ensure material availability relative to build schedule, WIP and finished goods inventory plan
  • Work with QA to establish a robust Root Cause and Corrective Action roadmap for all manufacturing issues
  • Ensure all manufacturing work instructions and engineering changes are properly documented and implemented in production
  • Develop lean methodologies and proactively seek ways to improve manufacturing performance and reduce cost by improving processes, process flow and product quality
  • Develop and implement 5s program with the production team
  • Establish production metrics used to drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with logistics team to ensure on time deliveries
  • Prepare and maintain production statistics detailing utilization, efficiency, resources requirements, etc.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate data input relative to production work orders into ERP
  • Develop annual production budget
  • Ensure health and safety policies are enforced
  • Scheduling resources and reviewing employee requests
  • Maintain an effective production work environment while providing motivation, support and guidance to team


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Act as Avidbots facilities manager


Main Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or College degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering (at least 3 year program) or equivalent experience
    Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/related field
  • Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience with Lean methodologies
  • Proactive professional with excellent hands on problem solving skills
  • ERP (Epicor) experience
