Position: Tennis Pro Shop Guest Services
Status: Part time, Hourly
Pay: $15.75 per hour
Reports to: Head Tennis Professional & Pro Shop Team Lead

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, Tennis Pro Shop Guest Services assist our guests with court reservations, checking in tennis guests, selling pro shop merchandise, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position is primarily weekends and will include light court maintenance such as sweeping and line rolling.
Description:
  • Greet and acknowledge guests when they arrive to the shop.
  • Performs opening and closing of pro shop, operates and reconciles cash register, prepares and makes deposits, dates play tickets, completes daily reports, and provides basic pro shop security.
  • Complete guest transactions accurately and timely, collect payments including using a point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift cards.
  • Provides general information in friendly, professional manner to customers relating to court reservations, upcoming tournaments, etc.; directs callers to appropriate destination as needed.
  • Assists Tennis professional with duties related to tournaments hosted by JITC.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Provide guests with additional information about Jekyll Island and guest attractions, maintaining knowledge of amenities and ongoing events.
  • Complete the daily duties assigned and any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor.
  • Maintains cleanliness of pro shop.
  • Performs routine court maintenance as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to count money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule required including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings, scheduled hours will vary based on tennis center operation needs, up to 20 hours per week.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
  • Credit and Criminal background checks are required.
  • Ability to safely operate golf cart.
  • Experience in tennis preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Between 25% and 50% of the typical work day will be spent standing, sitting, walking and repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers.
  • Less than 25% of the typical work day will consist of stooping and/or crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to read and write, clearly communicate.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Subject to work both inside and outside with extended periods of time in outside conditions, will be exposed to sun, heat & humidity, cold, and rain.
