Job description

General Description

The Company Commander is responsible for the financial, operation, quality, and customer satisfaction metrics for all security services contracts within the assigned company for a particular branch office.

Essential functions

- Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate performance of all security personnel within assigned company to ensure all services are conducted in a timely and professional manner and employees are developed and retained

- Understand expectations of existing clients and build relationship of trust and responsiveness, ensuring client inquiries and concerns are addressed in a timely and efficient manner

- Manage payroll, training, billing, payables, and equipment expenses to stay within budget, providing financial reports to XO

- Conduct regular quality assurance audits and inspections of all accounts to ensure all account operations are in full compliance with post orders, and all applicable company standards and/or regulations

- Lead and manage new account start-ups/transitions

- Develop and update post orders and operational guidelines for all accounts, to include contingency/emergency plans and quality standards/metrics that are used to evaluate performance

- Provide after-hours response at client sites for such reasons as site inspections, emergency response situations, or disciplinary concerns for security staff

- Work closely with and supervise Field Supervisors to provide strong support for guards and clients

- Prepare and review client service reports with follow up on service issues to support delivery of high quality service

- Assist with branch P&L management with focus to keep labor-related costs and unbilled overtime to a minimum and within company tolerances

- Assist XO and Branch Manager in developing annual budgets

- Assist local law enforcement investigations of accidents thefts, and property loss

- Other job duties as assigned

Basic requirements

- Minimum 25 years of age

- High school diploma or GED preferred

- Successfully pass criminal history background check and Motor Vehicle Record check

- Must be licensed as minimum Level II officer in Texas, or successfully pass licensing requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property and institutions

- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction

- Knowledge of the content and structure of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar

- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, agency rules, and company policies

- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, managing files and records

- Teach or instruct others on the job

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- Strong leadership ability with minimum 3 years in a leadership position, preferably in a security related industry

- Ability to build a team with strong morale and retention, and develop high performers to move up in the organization

- Strong customer service orientation with ability to develop solutions that balance the needs of the business and the client

- Critical thinking and sound judgment to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems and chose the correct approach

- Time management skills to manage own time effectively

- Ability to maintain calm in stressful situations

- Visual acuity to observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources

- Reading comprehension to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents

- Perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and/or moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting or standing for long periods of time and handling of materials

- Active listening ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times

- Social perceptiveness to be aware of others’ reactions, understand why they react as they do, and personally react appropriately

- Interpersonal skills to develop constructive and cooperative relationships with others and maintain over time

- Speaking ability to talk to others to convey information effectively

- Writing ability to enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information effectively in written and electronic form

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position regularly works in an office setting, and regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand. Travel is generally local but may be required overnight to the Corporate office on occasion. They will be a high level of contact with others
