Job description

Retail Non-Armed Security Officer

Advanced Professional Security (APS) is seeking a professional and observant Retail Non-Armed Security Officer to maintain a visible security presence and support a safe shopping environment for our client in Greeley, CO. This position involves active foot patrols, theft deterrence, and collaboration with store staff and property management to ensure the protection of people, property, and merchandise. This is a great entry-level opportunity to begin your career in the armed and unarmed security industry. Public service looks for individuals who take pride in their community and themselves and ensures that their integrity goes unwavered. This position will remain opened until filled, not to exceed 14 days.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high-visibility presence throughout retail areas to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
  • Conduct regular foot patrols and remain visible to deter criminal activity
  • Observe, report, and document suspicious activity or incidents accurately
  • Respond promptly and professionally to security concerns, alarms, or disturbances
  • Enforce site rules, policies, and procedures in a courteous manner
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist customers or staff as needed
  • Coordinate with store management and local law enforcement when required
  • Complete incident reports and daily activity logs
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior security or retail loss prevention experience preferred (but not required)
  • Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (at least 8-hour shifts)
