This position requires, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Instructor Certification

and be cleared or eligible to be designated as a DCJS Security Guard Instructor.

Overview

We here at A&H Security are currently seeking a Certified Security Instructor to lead and facilitate NYS-mandated security training courses; including the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment, 8-Hour Annual, 16-Hour On-the-Job, and Fireguard preparation. The ideal candidate is a current or former licensed security guard with strong knowledge of industry standards, terminology, and New York State requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct training sessions for the 8-hour pre-assignment, 16-hour OJT, and 8-hour annual security courses.
  • Administer and oversee examinations for the 8-hour and 16-hour training modules.
  • Complete and maintain accurate administrative paperwork related to training and certifications.
  • Lead new hire Orientation and ensure all trainees understand course materials and requirements.
  • Instruct and issue NARCAN Certificates
  • Instruct, lead and issue DHS 40 Hour Shelter Training Certificates (in accordance to Local Law 124)
  • Train the staff on proper access control duties.
  • Occassional work in the field
  • Other Duties as Assigned
