Job description

Founded in 1999, Global Security Services is full service private security, investigation and electronic security agency. Global Security Services’ provides expertise in consulting, physical security and protective services, investigation, electronic security and support of the total physical and electronic security environment. We are seeking Armed Security Officers to help provide armed uniformed security to businesses and various State and Federal agencies.

Qualification Requirements

  • Must be proportionate in height and weight
  • Must be clean shaven and neatly groomed at all times
  • Must have valid Driver's License
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have weapons permit or be able to obtain one
  • Must be able to pass background clearance check and drug screening
  • Must have Good driving record
  • Must be able to pass a physical agility test (1 1/2 mile run in 17minutes and 30 seconds, and 19 push-ups within 2 minutes)
  • No tattoos on hands, fingers, neck or face permitted
  • Must be available for all shifts but mainly 1st shift/2nd shift
  • Must be available to work at two different facilities (one in Des Moines, Iowa and the second in Johnston, Iowa)
  • Position 1 Full-Time Schedule: Sunday 6am-6pm, Monday 6am-12pm, Tuesday 6am-12pm, Wednesday 6am-10am, and Saturday 6am-6pm (40 hours a week).
  • Position 2 Full-Time Schedule Tuesday - Friday 7am-5pm (40 hours a week).
  • Position 3 Part-Time Schedule: Wednesday - Friday 2pm-10pm (24 hours a week) - part-time position has no benefits.
  • Schedules are subject to change due to emergencies, call offs and special events

Responsibilities of Armed Security Officers

  • Armed Security Officers will provide a general deterrence against the commission of wrongful acts attempted or committed against our client's employees, visitors, guests, or their property.
  • Provide directions and informational assistance to employees, visitors and guests.
  • Aid in the discovery of security violations and early reporting of emergencies.
  • Detain miscreants when lawful and appropriate.
  • Conduct roving patrol of facilities, grounds, parking lots, garages, out buildings and other functions outlined in written instructions.
  • Prepare written reports detailing security related activity on appropriate forms.
