Job description

Job Purpose
The Technician, Print Operations will be involved in our metal 3D printing operations. Daily tasks will revolve around setting up print jobs, handling metal powders, part post processing, part testing, and performing routine maintenance on the equipment. This role will be a crucial part of setting up and maintaining our print operations at the new Hyliion facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work hand in hand with the engineering and management teams to fabricate metal powder bed fusion parts to be used in Karno production.
  • Perform downstream processes after print including powder evacuation, support removal, pressure vessel leak testing and prepping jobs for outsource vendor operations.
  • Contribute towards advancing print process improvements and innovation.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, needed, or required for the business

Qualifications include:
  • Education, Experience and Certifications
    • High School Diploma / GED
    • Minimum of 5 years work experience working in a hands-on environment.
    • Additive manufacturing experience (3 years LPBF preferred- GE concept laser, EOS, SLM).
    • CNC machine and/or EDM experience
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Self-motivated and able to take initiative.
    • Strong mechanical intuition.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with heavy attention to detail in their work.
  • Experience operating additive manufacturing machines.
  • Experience operating equipment that requires calibration or a highly detailed set up.

Role Classification and Working Conditions
This is a(n) hourly, non-exempt-level position. This position typically works in a production/assembly/engineering lab environment. Overtime may be required.
Physical/Other Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, by plane, automobile, etc.
