Job description

Broadridge is growing! We are currently recruiting a PrintOperatorto join our dynamic Production Operations team in Edgewood, NY.

Work Mode: This is an on-site role that will be assigned to a Broadridge location where you will work 100% of the time.

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor - DDS Operations, the DDS Print Operator is responsible for operating cut-sheet and high-speed printers, as well as perfect binding and stitching equipment to produce documents for DDS internal and external clients. This person is responsible for ensuring that they produce high-quality work on a timely basis. The Print Operator will work with the DDS Print Coordinator and shift supervisor to prioritize work requests and ensure that work is processed in priority order.

Responsibilities

  • Receive print requests from DDS Print Coordinator and Supervisor and print documents/jobs accordingly on cut-sheet and high-speed equipment.
  • Review and assign work to the appropriate printers from the Canon Workflow System.
  • Work with shift supervisor, Print Coordinator, and Production Control Specialists to prioritize work requests and ensure that jobs are printed in priority order.
  • Ensure that the quality of all work produced meets DDS/client standards. Continually monitor print quality by reviewing work as it is printed. Immediately bring any quality issues/problems to the attention of the shift supervisor.
  • Ensure that the correct jobs are routed to the printer by comparing print request data to the actual output and samples job (when available).
  • Notify the DDS Print Coordinator when jobs are completed to ensure that the DDS Production Control Specialist can scan out the job and move it to the next step in the process.
  • Stamp all print requests relating to jobs printed to ensure accountability and accurate production reporting.
  • Inform management of printer/file problems. Contact appropriate vendors (Canon, Ricoh, Bell & Howell, Horizon, etc.) to report problems that require vendor intervention. Log all calls according to DDS procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate. Some college preferred
  • One year of experience in a print production environment. Knowledge of Cano or Ricoh printers preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and management at multiple levels.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to review printed documents to ensure that they meet DDS quality standards.
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate strong initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, including weekends.
  • Must be flexible to accept various assignments within the print room (e.g., running different jobs/equipment, learning to utilize new equipment, etc.).

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $ 18.00. Bonus Eligible!

Shift: Monday through Friday, 2 PM to 10 PM
