Northrop Grumman is looking for a Sr. Principal Technical Editor and Writer /Level 4 to support MDC2. As a member of MDC2, you'll get to support the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft. This position is located onsite, in St Augustine, FL.
Responsibilities:


The primary role for this position is the development and sustainment of cable and wiring Functional Flow Diagrams (FFD) for an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM). Additionally, this position requires the employee train other Technical Editors and Writers on the tools to develop and sustain FFDs. Secondary roles include authoring, rewrites and/or edits of technical documents such as descriptive and procedural data and parts catalogs for maintenance and user manuals. The manuals must be clear and concise to effectively communicate technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires expertise by engaging with product developers, monitoring the effectiveness of production tools and techniques, referencing technical specifications, blueprints, engineering diagrams and drawings, and industry publications. Uses applicable drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts and other engineering data. When necessary, prepare materials for illustration. This position is a component in the quality review process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 Years experience with Bachelors; 3 Years experience with Masters; 1 year experience with PHD

  • Advanced understanding of core aircraft principles, concepts, practices, and standards essential to military aircraft maintenance

  • Experience with authoring IETM data module (DM) using the S1000D specifications

  • Authoring experience will include background in XML authoring software, such as Abortext or Eagle EPS and IETM technical publications development processes

  • Skilled author with experience writing descriptive, procedural and Illustrated Parts Detail (IPD) type DMs

  • Ability to compare engineering source data with authored content as a first-level quality check

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.

  • Experienced with the use and maintenance of an IETM viewer like the US Navy NSIV

  • Basic understanding of the HarnesSYS wiring and cable design tool.

  • Skilled with the VGMT tool.

Primary Level Salary Range: $92,200.00 - $138,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
