Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Management Representative (CMR) to support Rehabilitate and Stabilize Eight Residences and Museum at Chapin Mesa. You will provide on-site construction management support, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and assisting the government in monitoring construction progress, quality, and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

This is contingent on the project award, and the contract duration is two years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, attend, and facilitate all required meetings, including weekly progress meetings (online or on-site), internal government meetings, AE/AHJ inspections, and government–contractor negotiations.
  • Document and distribute meeting notes within one business day for all progress and project-related meetings.
  • Observe and record construction contractor work for progress, quality, workmanship, code compliance, and adherence to contract documents and safety standards.
  • Verify weekly that the contractor’s record drawings (redlines) are updated, and document this in the weekly meeting notes.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and all applicable safety requirements.
  • Support the Government in preparing, managing, and tracking documentation related to contract changes and disputes.
  • Receive, log, and review all  contractor submittals  for completeness, accuracy, and contract compliance before forwarding them for review.
  • Review, log, and verify accuracy of Contractor RFIs; assist with drafting responses, tracking progress, and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Inspect delivered construction materials and equipment to confirm they match approved submittals.
  • Review the Contractor’s Daily CQC Reports for accuracy, completeness, and contract compliance.
  • Organize, facilitate and document preparatory, initial and follow-up inspections for the work tasks that warrant the three-phase inspection.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficient with computers and construction management software, including MS Teams (meetings, calls, screen sharing), Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, MS Project, and other common CM tools.
  • Able to walk or climb daily to observe on-site contract performance.
  • Able to read, interpret, and understand construction contracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Completed OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.
  • Able to understand cost estimates broken down by prime and subcontractor labor, equipment, materials, overhead, and profit, and evaluate proposals at that level.
  • Able to understand and document government–contractor negotiations involving technical scope, labor, equipment, materials, overhead, and profit.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
