Arcadis is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support our team in Boston. In this role, you will focus on schedule development and cost estimating, supporting bridge and/or transit infrastructure projects. Your role will ensure robust project planning, monitoring, and control to deliver on time and on budget.
Role accountabilities
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other
  • Create look-ahead schedules, baseline updates, and recovery plans
  • Perform critical path analysis, time-impact analyses (TIA), and delay matrices
  • Lead progress reporting, schedule variance, and performance monitoring against baseline
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs, apply unit rates, and prepare cost estimates aligned with bridge/transit scope
  • Manage cost forecasts, budget vs actuals, cash flow and Earned Value Management (EVM) analyses
  • Assist in bid preparation, developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cost coding, and change order documentation
  • Align schedules and estimates across engineering, procurement, and construction teams; integrate multidisciplinary inputs
  • Facilitate communication and coordination-serving as a liaison among PMs, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Support risk analysis, scenario planning, and cash flow forecasting
  • Maintain change control logs, schedule/control registers, and be part of claims or dispute resolution if needed

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience on bridge or transit infrastructure, heavy civil, or similar complex projects
  • Hands-on experience with scheduling and estimating software Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project strongly preferred

Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiar with estimating practices and software.
  • Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and manage dynamic project challenges.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions.
