As an PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF) - TITLE 5, GS-0101-11, you will serve as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities. Serve as the Primary Prevention Integrator (PPI) managing all aspects of a complex integrated primary prevention program (P3). Serve as point of contact for the suicide prevention program and workplace and domestic violence programs. Deliver initial prevention activities, averting harm or abuse before it occurs. Interpret and develop policy, plans, objectives, and guidance for the operation of local P3. Provide professional advisory services and training to Service Members and community agencies concerning violence-related prevention efforts. Develop coordinated plans for reducing risk factors and promoting protective factors for increased resiliency within the community. Support personal violence prevention efforts and programming. Present prevention program data to leadership advisory committees, boards, and working groups. Serve as the liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy climate, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communication campaigns. Recruit, train, and facilitate military volunteers for prevention activity implementation. Provide technical oversight to service members assigned to perform integrated prevention activities at the unit level. Conduct trainings around prevention activities, processes, and planning. Perform other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service (GS-09) or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of Primary Prevention efforts relating to self-directed and interpersonal harm. Experience in the organization, management, and administration of programs and services to participate in self-directed and interpersonal harm prevention program planning. Experience collecting data, creating reports, and maintaining proper records. Experience preparing and conducting briefings to senior leaders and management. Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc., relating to the primary prevention of self-directed and interpersonal harm.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification. Education
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
-OR-
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
-OR-
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
To receive credit for education, you must provide OFFICIAL transcripts for validation.
