This job is for the Catering Prep Coordinator at our restaurant located in The Shoppes of Ocoee.
Our Catering Prep Coordinator takes pride in creating classic recipes and flavors of a traditional New York deli. This key role is critical to our success in executing the highest quality food with speed and efficiency.
TooJay's New York-style Deli has been a fan favorite since 1981. With several locations across Florida, we are famous for piled-high sandwiches, hearty portions of homemade comfort foods and made-from-scratch soups, salads and baked goods.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Catering Prep Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and exceptional organizational skills to assist in client catering events from start to finish. , coordination and food preparation, and ensuring that all catering services are executed flawlessly.
  • You must be able to work in the kitchen, preparing all catered meals for offsite client. Once completed, the Catering Prep Coordinator packs, delivers and sets up the catered lunches and events offsite.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for catering services.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Familiarity with menu planning and event coordination in a catering context.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Driver's License and current Florida auto insurance required. Final candidates will receive MVR background check and must show proof of insurance.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent experience in a restaurant or related field
• Flexible and long hours required at times
• Ability to stand during entire shift, exerting up to 50 pounds as needed
• Must be able to maneuver safely throughout the walk-ins and kitchen during the shift
• Able to handle and operate safely: steamer, knives, steam table, gas range, convection ovens, meat slicer, digital scales, automatic dish machine, all chemical solvents and hot water
• Has the ability to reach overhead, carry/transport sheet pans, handle hot and cold beverages, bend below the waist, crouch and communicate intentions to co-workers
• Approach all encounters with Guests in a friendly, socially distanced and service-oriented manner
• Continuously clean high touch points throughout the kitchen area
• Maintain regular schedule in compliance with TooJay's business levels which may vary based on the needs of the restaurant and check list protocols per Covid-19 standards of cleanliness
• Maintain high standards of personal grooming, including wearing proper uniform and facial mask and gloves when/where if required and as regulated
