The Large Electric Power Sales Rep is responsible for developing and enhancing sales coverage within their assigned territory. Their primary focus will be on the sale of Caterpillar and Allied products including but not limited to, electric power generation, switch gear, and battery storage systems by performing the following duties.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, understanding customer needs for high reliability, efficiency, and grid modernization. Present and articulate the technical value proposition of our products for critical power applications.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain and expand long-term relationships with electrical contractors, engineers, and facility managers.
  • Manage the entire sales process from initial inquiry and qualification through proposal generation, negotiation, and contract closure, ensuring alignment with revenue and profitability goals.
  • Work closely with application engineers, product management, and field service teams to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions to clients.
  • Business Development: Proactively identify and engage potential clients in sectors such as healthcare, data centers, construction, and manufacturing.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and activity reports using our CRM system to provide clear visibility into the sales pipeline.
  • Technical Consultation: Conduct site walks and load analysis to recommend appropriate generator sizing and power system configurations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in the electric power equipment industry, with a significant focus on Datacenter and/or Electric Utility applications (Transmission, Distribution, or Generation).
  • Strong understanding of medium and high-voltage power distribution systems, power quality issues, grid infrastructure, and critical power requirements for large-scale facilities.
  • Established network of contacts within the datacenter ecosystem (e.g., operators, EPC firms, design consultants) and utility industry.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage complex, long-cycle sales processes.
  • Must have valid drivers’ license and clean driving record
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Moderate computer skills. Familiar with web navigation, experience working with databases.
  • Ability to travel regionally and occasionally nationally to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support projects.
