Job description

JOIN OUR TEAM

Guarantee Electrical is building its data and analytics function from the ground up and we're looking for a Data Analyst to join the team. You'll report directly to our Director of Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics and play a hands-on role in shaping how a leading electrical contractor turns data into a competitive advantage.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build and Maintain BI Reports

Develop, maintain, and continually improve reports and dashboards in Qlik and other BI tools. You'll work with stakeholders across the business to understand analytics needs and build reporting solutions that are accurate, intuitive, and ultimately make an impact. Ensure reports are trusted, well-documented, and align with business requirements.

Improve Data Quality

Analyze data across our operational systems and help identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps. Document findings, help recommend fixes, and work on implementations to improve data quality over time. Build out monitoring solutions to help surface data quality issues where automated fixes are not possible. In addition to operational system analysis, you'll help the team ensure our data warehouse and BI reports meet high enterprise standards. This may include tying out analytical metrics to source systems, reviewing consistency across reports, maintaining metric definitions, and measuring accuracy.

Support End Users

Work with business and operational users across the company. Assist them in making the best use of BI software, investigating questions around metrics, and build confidence in using data across the company. Help drive adoption of dashboards by ensuring users understand and trust the metrics. Perform ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions, research anomalies, and recommend actions. Help build out training and documentation artifacts to ensure users are comfortable in BI reports. Assist in change management for analytics deliverables, including user testing, communicating updates, maintaining documentation, and promoting changes through testing and production environments.

Contribute to the Data & Analytics Foundation

As part of a growing team, you'll have opportunities to grow and contribute outside of your current skill set. Whether that's building out new analytics solutions, testing tools and software, or implementing standards, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact. Partnering with stakeholders across the company, you'll help define KPIs and metrics along with building out the solutions to surface those to the business. The work you do and conversations with stakeholders will help shape how our data environment develops over time.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

  • SQL skills: You're comfortable writing queries to extract, manipulate, and aggregate data.
  • Experience building BI reports and dashboards from a major platform (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, etc).
  • Basic Python or similar programming language experience.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query a plus)
  • Clear communication skills. You're able to both explain data concepts to non-technical audiences as well as collaborate with technical team members.
  • Experience working with end users to gather requirements. Comfortable clarifying expectations and iterating on solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, related field, or similarly relevant experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Analytics experience: 1-4 years of experience as a data analyst, BI developer, or similar role.
  • Exposure to cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Advanced SQL skills. Ability to utilize window functions, CTEs. Exposure to writing stored procedures and common/shared functions a plus.
  • Experience utilizing APIs to extract and load data.
  • Exposure to dimensional modeling within data warehouses and/or semantic layers within BI tools.
  • Intermediate or advanced Python.
  • Experience working with version control (Git, Azure Devops).
  • Exposure to ERPs or construction management software (Viewpoint Vista, Procore).

WHY GUARANTEE?

As a Data Analyst at Guarantee, you'll have:

  • Meaningful impact: Ability to make an impact on a growing team. You won't inherit a lot of technical debt or legacy maintenance. Help shape how the organization uses data for years to come.
  • Modern data tools: Exposure to the full data technical stack. Ability to work with Qlik, Snowflake, business applications, and operational systems.
  • Mentorship: Leaders experienced in the data space. You'll have an environment to learn from and collaborate with data leaders who also know how to do the work. This role is well-suited for an early career analyst looking to grow both technical and business facing skills over time.
  • Cultural Alignment: A collaborative team culture that's willing to invest in learning, growth, development, and a commitment to data-driven decisions. You're encouraged to take ownership of areas as you grow and support the team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL
