Job description

Imperial is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Architect/Engineer to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our enterprise reporting and analytics platform. This role will serve as the internal expert for Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, NetSuite reporting architecture, and enterprise data modeling partnering closely with Finance, Sales, Inventory, Operations, and IT leadership to reduce consulting dependency, improve reporting maturity, and develop internal BI capabilities. This position also mentors junior BI resources and establishes the governance and standards necessary to support continued company growth.

What You’ll be Doing

Business Intelligence Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise reporting and analytics roadmap.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership to identify reporting priorities and business opportunities.
  • Translate business objectives into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Establish KPI governance and standard definitions across departments.
  • Advise leadership on reporting capabilities, data quality initiatives, and analytics strategy.

Power BI & Microsoft Fabric Architecture

  • Own overall Power BI and Microsoft Fabric architecture, including enterprise semantic models and data structures.
  • Establish development standards, naming conventions, deployment processes, and governance controls.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and security across reporting environments.
  • Lead Fabric adoption initiatives including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines, and Semantic Models.

NetSuite, Inventory & Financial Analytics

  • Design and maintain reporting solutions supporting Financial Reporting, Sales Reporting, Inventory Analysis, Supply Chain Analytics, and Operational Performance Reporting.
  • Develop reporting strategies that address complex ERP, accounting, inventory, and manufacturing data structures.
  • Work closely with NetSuite and operational teams to improve data availability and reporting effectiveness.
  • Support integration and reporting initiatives involving NetSuite, Deposco, and related systems.

Consultant Dependency Reduction

  • Internalize knowledge currently held by consulting partners; document critical business logic, calculations, and technical designs.
  • Reduce reliance on external development resources through in-house capability development.
  • Evaluate consulting engagements and ensure strategic use of external resources.

Governance & Delivery Management

  • Establish and oversee BI intake processes, requirements gathering standards, prioritization frameworks, development lifecycle management, and release management.
  • Support business stakeholders in evaluating and prioritizing reporting requests.
  • Create transparency around reporting backlog, delivery timelines, and resource allocation.

Team Development & Mentorship

  • Serve as mentor and technical leader for junior BI resources, coaching in data modeling, Power BI development, DAX, requirements gathering, and report design.
  • Enable junior team members to assume increasing ownership of report intake, development, stakeholder engagement, and operational support.

What We Need

Required

  • 7+ years of Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of advanced Power BI development experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Fabric experience including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Semantic Models, Data Pipelines, and Security & Governance.
  • Advanced SQL development and query performance optimization skills.
  • Experience with ERP reporting and data architecture in complex business environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, sales analytics, inventory management, manufacturing operations, and supply chain reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
  • Experience mentoring developers and analysts, and leading reporting roadmaps and governance initiatives.
  • Ability to work directly with executive and departmental leadership.

Preferred

  • NetSuite reporting and analytics experience.
  • Apparel, manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain industry experience.
  • Deposco, WMS, or fulfillment system experience.
  • Microsoft Fabric or Power BI certifications.
  • Experience reducing consulting dependency and building internal analytics functions from the ground up.
