Livestock Nutrition Center specializes in blending customized rations, supplements and premixes to meet the specific nutritional needs of Livestock Producer's operations. We understand that management, performance objectives and feeding practices can be vastly different between operations, and that these differences dictate specific nutritional or formulation requirements. Our experienced sales staff and nutritionist will work with the Producer to design a feeding program that is specific to their operation.

Our focus is to provide customized feeding programs, nutritional products, and expert service to livestock producers that promote their long-term success and profitability.

Position Summary:

The Poultry Service Technician is responsible for supporting poultry customers/growers through effective feed program management, customer service, and sales/administrative support. This role monitors and manages feed inventories, inputs feed orders, ensures rations are both current and accurate, and partners with Sales, Administration, Operations, and Logistics to meet customer needs.

The Technician serves mainly in an administrative capacity while also supporting the sales team, delivering exceptional service internally and externally while strengthening communication between cross-functional teams. This position contributes directly to company growth by building and maintaining customer relationships, supporting feed program success, and helping increase customer and employee satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Assist Sales team in servicing and expanding LNC’s customer base.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of feed programs, product details, and industry practices to present LNC’s customized services, products, and pricing.
  • Deliver feed price quotes, schedule deliveries, and monitor customer contract execution.
  • Maintain multiple systems and databases related to order and account management to meet customer requests.
  • Inform customers about order status, documentation, and other information required to complete inquiries.
  • Execute strategies to drive efficiencies and enhance customer experience.
  • Provide support for improvement projects and commitments requiring a basic understanding of customer service practices and procedures.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain customer and order data in Salesforce CRM, CPQ, and related systems.
  • Handle customer complaints, issues, and objections with professionalism to support win-win resolutions and customer retention.
  • Assist in accounts receivable management for assigned customer accounts.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, ensuring compliance across the team.

Feed Program Management & Fulfillment

  • Monitor and manage feed inventories at customer/grower locations.
  • Input feed orders and ensure feed rations remain current and accurate.
  • Work closely with Location Managers and Operations teams to meet feed requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with Location Managers and follow operational protocols and guidelines at assigned locations.
  • Become proficient in feed formulation programs and load/planner scheduling systems.

Administrative & Team Support

  • Strengthen communication and collaboration across Sales, Logistics, Operations, and Administrative teams.
  • Maintain accurate reports, records, and documentation of customer interactions and feed programs.
  • Support customers/growers with placements, diet selection, and communicate growth projections with other teams as necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to gather and analyze client or prospect information to support decision-making.
  • Strengthen cross-functional communication and teamwork between Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Administration.
  • Participate in improvement projects to drive efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and professionalism in all work performed.
 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience following completion of an undergraduate degree.
  • Basic knowledge of agricultural business practices, customer and market dynamics, and poultry feed programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with growers, team members, and customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software (Salesforce CRM, CPQ, formulation/load planning).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • Willingness to travel across TX, OK, and AR; valid driver’s license required.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift/move up to 25 lbs., and work in poultry barn environments.
  • Maintain a smartphone with email and data service for company business.
  • Professional, ethical, and customer-focused mindset.
 

Working Conditions

  • Some travel to customer/grower/LNC locations across TX, OK, and AR.
  • Combination of on-farm visits, office reporting, and customer-facing service.
  • Exposure to agricultural environments including poultry barns, dust, and varying weather conditions.
  • Requires flexibility in scheduling to meet customer and operational needs.
