Job Description
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering strategic technology initiatives that modernize Unitek's IT environment and enable business growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines enterprise project management with technical execution, working closely with Infrastructure, Security, Applications, and business teams to successfully deliver transformational projects.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable presenting project status to executive leadership, coordinating cross-functional teams, and rolling up their sleeves to participate in project implementation when needed. This role will serve as a key driver of Unitek's internal IT transformation while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
  • Lead multiple enterprise IT projects from initiation through post-production support.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, resource plans, risk registers, and executive status reports.
  • Coordinate work across Infrastructure, Security, Applications, Digital Strategy, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage project scope, dependencies, risks, issues, and executive communications.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings and drive accountability across project teams.
  • Partner with department leaders to prioritize initiatives based on business value and organizational readiness.

Technical Leadership & Execution
  • Actively participate in project implementation activities where appropriate.
  • Assist with solution planning, technical coordination, testing, cutover planning, and production deployments.
  • Work alongside engineers and technical staff to remove roadblocks and accelerate delivery.
  • Develop implementation documentation, standards, and operational transition plans.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT processes through automation and standardization.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience leading enterprise IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft enterprise technologies, cloud infrastructure, endpoint management, and identity platforms.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise application projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

Preferred
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows enterprise management.
  • Experience with higher education technology.
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS implementations such as SIS, ERP, CRM, or collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies
