Silgan Containers is seeking a Project Engineer, Manufacturing to lead large-scale capital engineering projects across multiple manufacturing facilities. What You Will Do
As a Project Engineer, Manufacturing, you will manage capital engineering projects from concept through completion while coordinating with plant teams, vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage major capital projects from inception through completion, including project execution, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and implementation strategies
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and manufacturing plant teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Estimate project costs, prepare purchase orders, process invoices, and track project financials
  • Organize and oversee large-scale system installations across multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Drive on-time and under-budget project delivery while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, engineering plans, and system diagrams
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project status, milestones, risks, and updates to stakeholders
  • Gain hands-on manufacturing engineering experience through collaboration with plant teams and project leaders
  • Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives across manufacturing operations

What You Need to Bring
The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills, engineering knowledge, organizational abilities, and the ability to work effectively across multiple manufacturing facilities and teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, or 5+ years of experience managing large-scale engineering projects
  • 3+ years of project management experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or facilities environments
  • Experience with capital projects, manufacturing systems, HVAC systems, vendor coordination, budgeting, and large-scale equipment installations
  • Proficiency with Gantt charts, project scheduling, budgeting, and project lifecycle management
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with multi-site engineering or manufacturing projects preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%-70%
  • Interest in manufacturing operations, engineering systems, and continuous learning
