Overview
The Manager, Project Management leads a team of project managers responsible for delivering complex, cross-functional product development initiatives within Generac's Industrial Energy business. This role combines people leadership with hands-on program oversight, ensuring projects are executed with strong discipline, accountability, and alignment to business objectives.
The position plays a critical role in building team capability, establishing best-in-class project management practices, and driving successful delivery of new product introductions and lifecycle initiatives across global markets.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, driving high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee execution of multiple complex NPD projects, ensuring alignment to scope, cost, quality, and schedule commitments
  • Establish and standardise best practices in project management, including planning, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination
  • Drive accountability across teams to meet key milestones, delivery timelines, and business outcomes
  • Partner with product management, engineering, operations, and supply chain to align project execution with business strategy
  • Ensure effective use of structured development processes (e.g., phase-gate / GDP) to maintain project rigour and governance
  • Identify and mitigate risks across projects, ensuring proactive issue resolution and escalation management
  • Support resource planning and allocation to optimise team capacity and project delivery
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution, processes, and organisational effectiveness
  • Provide visibility into project performance through metrics, reporting, and stakeholder communication

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering, product development, or industrial product environments
  • 7+ years of project management experience in New Product Development
  • Prior experience leading or managing project teams in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualification
  • Experience within industrial energy, power systems, or heavy equipment environments
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within cost, and to quality expectations
  • Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing project management teams
  • Experience implementing structured NPI / phase-gate development processes
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including cost management and prioritization
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment in a matrixed organisation
  • Experience managing large, complex global programmes across the full product lifecycle
