What is a POS Project Manager?

A POS (Point of Sale) Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and completion of projects related to point-of-sale systems. This includes coordinating between stakeholders, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring the successful deployment or upgrade of POS solutions in retail or hospitality environments. They work closely with IT teams, vendors, and end users to ensure the POS system meets business requirements and operates smoothly. Their role is essential for ensuring seamless transaction processes and enhancing customer experiences.

What will you do?
A day in the life of an Associate Production Designer (Print, POS & Digital) at Altra looks a little like this. You're highly detail-oriented and take pride in delivering accurate, polished work. You thrive in execution-heavy roles and enjoy supporting complex production workflows across multiple timelines.
You're comfortable working within established brand systems, translating creative direction into polished, production-ready deliverables. You're organized, efficient, and able to manage a steady flow of asset production. You collaborate well, communicate clearly, understand how strong production supports the final brand experience, and have a passion for (or genuine interest in) running, the outdoors, apparel and footwear.
Let's break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
Print, POS & Retail Execution (Primary Focus)
  • Build and finalization of print-ready files for:
    • Retail signage and in-store graphics (SIS, windows, displays)
    • POS materials, including tech cards, brochures, fixtures, and signage systems
    • Event, activation, and experiential assets
    • Catalogs and sales materials
  • Prepare files for production by:
    • Setting correct dimensions, bleeds, trims, and safe areas
    • Managing color accuracy, including RGB to CMYK conversions
    • Packaging and delivering press-ready files to vendors
  • Ensure all outputs align with established brand standards and production specifications across formats

Motion & Video
  • Create GIFs and simple animations for digital and social use
  • Edit short-form video content for product, campaign, and social channels
  • Apply basic motion graphics, including text, product callouts, and transitions

Production & Workflow
  • Translate creative direction into accurate, final deliverables
  • Maintain consistency across all outputs (typography, color, layout)
  • Manage high-volume production work across multiple projects and timelines
  • Maintain organized file structures and version control
  • Partner with creative, marketing, and project management teams to meet deadlines

What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you'll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 2+ years of experience as a production designer or in a similar execution-focused role.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
  • Working knowledge of print production and pre-press workflows required
  • Proven Experience supporting the production of retail, POS, and large-format print assets
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Figma proficiency required
  • Working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro (or similar tools) for motion/video
  • Strong understanding of:
    • File setup, bleeds, trims, and color profiles
    • CMYK vs. RGB workflows
    • Typography, layout, and grid systems
  • Ability to support asset versioning and rollout needs across multiple deliverables
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver error-free files
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Location requirement: Denver, CO
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred:
  • Familiarity with vendor communication and print production coordination
  • Basic color correction skills for consistent output across channels
