Job description

The Our House Residential Care Facility (RCF) is a 14-room facility with a team of expert clinicians who work with people living with HIV who are having difficulty managing independent living. By tailoring nursing, social services, and therapeutic everyday activities our clients and residents are able to define what 'living well' means to them. Our House of Portland a program apart of Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented On- Call Nurse or LPN. This position is responsible for performing the primary function of a Registered Nurse assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of Our House residents and providing direct care to the residents as well as environmental care of the facility.
This is an On-Call role working at Our House location in SE Portland. This position is for an on-call, licensed nurse (either an RN or LPN) for day shifts (6:30 am to 3 pm) throughout Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Starting pay is $45.95 an hour for an RN and $34.17 for an LPN
Who You Are
  • Unencumbered nursing license in the state of Oregon
  • Basic Life Support card
  • Ability to pass DHS background check.
  • One year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships across a multicultural spectrum of organizations and professionals, including community partners and funders.
  • Commitment to advancing equity and inclusion in workplace or community settings.
  • Experience working with People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and/or people with disabilities, chronic illness and/or other barriers to independent living.

What You'll Do
  • The licensed nurse is responsible for directing and coordinating resident care as directed by the service plan, physician orders and clinical judgement.
  • Maintains accurate records of care provided or omitted in each resident's electronic record.
  • Provides direct resident care while promoting the resident's dignity, independence, and choice.
  • Performs nursing procedures in accordance with licensure and skill level, utilizing principles of safety and infection control.
  • Provides assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
