Fast growing Private Equity firm is seeking a finance professional with strong analytical capabilities and a commercial mindset to join a dynamic Strategic Finance organization. This position plays an integral role in supporting investment performance analysis, portfolio reporting, valuation activities, and strategic decision-making across a diverse portfolio of investments. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with investment professionals to develop, update, and maintain financial forecasts for multiple investment funds, incorporating portfolio company operating results, valuation updates, and long-range financial projections.
- Create and enhance financial and valuation models used to evaluate portfolio company performance, measure investment returns, and monitor progress against original investment assumptions.
- Perform scenario, sensitivity, and downside-risk analyses to assess the potential financial impact of changing market conditions, operational performance, and strategic initiatives across portfolio investments.
- Monitor portfolio company operating metrics, financial results, and key performance indicators, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities while providing meaningful insights to senior leadership.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc analyses that support executive decision-making, including investment performance reviews, portfolio benchmarking, variance analysis, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Assist with evaluating corporate development opportunities, acquisition analyses, business cases, and other special projects supporting firm-wide growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with portfolio company finance teams and internal investment, operations, legal, and finance professionals to ensure financial reporting, valuation assumptions, and analytical outputs remain accurate, consistent, and aligned across the organization.
- Support enterprise-wide reporting processes by maintaining high-quality portfolio data, improving reporting accuracy, and helping strengthen data governance across multiple investment vehicles.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts by analyzing portfolio performance, profitability trends, and operational drivers that influence investment outcomes.
- Translate complex financial analyses into clear, actionable recommendations that support investment monitoring, capital allocation, and executive-level decision making.
Qualified candidates must have at least 3-4 years of experience with company valuations in a PE or Management consulting environment. Investment banking background preferred, but not required.
This is a hybrid role, 4 days per week in Manhattan, with some meetings at the Northern NJ office.
