How much do pool jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 1, 2026, the average hourly pay for pool in Nevada is $19.12, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.15 and $21.06 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What does pool mean for jobs?

In a job context, a pool typically refers to a group of candidates or applicants being considered for a position, or a pool of available jobs within a company or industry. Employers may use candidate pools to fill multiple openings or to manage hiring processes efficiently. It can also refer to a pool of qualified workers from which to select for temporary or ongoing roles.

What are pool attendants and what do they do?

Pool attendants are staff members responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of swimming pool areas. Their duties typically include monitoring swimmers to ensure safety, enforcing pool rules, providing towels and amenities, cleaning poolside furniture, and sometimes assisting with basic water testing and chemical balancing. They often serve as the first point of contact for guests at pools in hotels, resorts, or community centers, and may also help set up or organize poolside events.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

High-paying jobs that can reach $4,000 a week without a degree often include roles such as commercial truck drivers, sales managers, real estate brokers, and skilled trades like electricians or plumbers. These positions typically require specialized training, certifications, or experience rather than a college degree, and often involve physically demanding work or sales skills. Earning this level of income usually depends on experience, performance, and the industry or location.

What are some aquatic careers?

Aquatic careers include roles such as lifeguards, swim instructors, aquatic therapists, marine biologists, and water safety instructors. These jobs often require certifications like CPR and first aid, and involve working in pools, lakes, oceans, or research environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pool Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pool Technician, you need a strong understanding of water chemistry, pool maintenance procedures, and often a high school diploma or relevant certification. Familiarity with pool testing kits, chemical dosing systems, and cleaning equipment is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure safe, clean, and well-functioning pool environments for clients, reducing health risks and equipment issues.

What is the difference between Pool vs Lifeguard?

Employer & Industry UsageRecreational, hospitality, fitness centersRecreational, hospitality, public pools

While a pool refers to the physical structure used for swimming and aquatic activities, a lifeguard is a trained professional responsible for ensuring safety around pools. The roles are interconnected, as lifeguards work at pools, but they are distinct in function and certification requirements.

How to make money with a pool?

A pool attendant or operator can make money by offering pool maintenance, cleaning, or lifeguard services to clients or facilities. These jobs often require basic skills, safety certifications, and a flexible schedule. Income depends on the number of clients and the scope of services provided.

What are some common challenges faced by pool technicians, and how can they be managed effectively?

Pool technicians often encounter challenges such as diagnosing water chemistry issues, managing equipment repairs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Staying up-to-date with the latest pool maintenance technology and regularly attending training can help address equipment-related problems. Building strong communication skills is also important, as technicians frequently interact with clients to explain necessary repairs and maintenance schedules. Proper time management and organization are key to efficiently handling multiple service calls in a day.

Join Our Team as a Pool Technician, Big George's Pool Care

About Big George's Pool Care

Are you known for your drive and leadership in any job you take on? We are Big George's Pool Care, dedicated to revolutionizing pool services. We're not just seeking employees; we're hunting for future leaders. Whether you bring experience or simply a thirst for growth, we want you on our team.

The Opportunity

As a Pool Technician, you'll dive into a route-based position responsible for the meticulous care of client pools. Each day promises variety, from traveling between client sites to professional customer interactions, delivering top-notch service, and accurate documentation, every task adding depth to your role.

This is a great opportunity for people who want to work hard and learn. There is a lot to learn, and if you like to learn and get better, you will thrive here. If learning is a burden to you, this won't be a good fit.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Competitive Pay: Earn $17/hour and Pay for Performance, which recently saw techs earning an average of $26.06 per hour.
  • Growth Prospects: We're growing and looking for people to grow with us. Transition into roles like team leader or trainer, with personalized training and development opportunities.
  • Interesting Schedule: We are transitioning to each technician servicing pools 4 days a week and doing projects/learning on the 5th day. This will allow technicians to learn, advance in their careers, and make more.
  • Training: We do hands-on training, weekly training, and have access to video training. There are as many resources as you can handle.
  • Attractive Benefits: Look forward to a 401K with matching, Health Reimbursement Account, and more, starting in 2026.
Perks of the Job
  • We have the best tools, from electric pool vacuums to sophisticated test equipment, empowering you to do a great job.
  • Enjoy a company truck and fuel card--no last-minute shop stops or driving your own truck.
  • Paid time off, including a full week each at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break.
  • On-the-job training and referral programs.
  • Retirement plan (401 (k)) with a match, and health reimbursement account benefits are being added in 2026.
Our Core Values Empower Your Success
  • Team Spirit: We hire exceptional people, support them wholeheartedly, and celebrate victories together.
  • Continuous Improvement: At Big George's, mistakes become invaluable lessons.
  • Transparent Communication: We encourage honest, complete dialogue.
Your Role and Objectives

Embrace your position as a Pool Technician, where you'll ensure reliable service and client satisfaction, engage in accurate documentation, and support revenue objectives, all while maintaining professional interactions on-site. We use Pay for Performance and a client survey with every service email to track key performance indicators. If you like knowing how you are doing, you will like it here.

What You Bring to the Table

Your success at Big George's hinges on communication, resourcefulness, a hearty appetite for learning, and showing up mentally and physically. If you love working outdoors, value good works rewards, and see challenges as exciting hurdles, you're on the right track.

Ready to Lead? Let's Connect!

Join us in turning Big George's Pool Care into Las Vegas's premier pool service company. Considerations

Working outside is rewarding but requires adapting to varying weather. Our small team is nimble and well-supported, but we aren't a big national company. Due to peak operations, vacation from May to September is tricky.

Note: A little fun fact when asked, remember Big George, our company mascot (the dog), is 6 years old to show you read this far!
