Job description

The primary role of the Pool and Fitness Supervisor is responsibility for maintaining the daily operations of the Pool and Health Club, fostering a positive staff environment, maximizing the guest experience, ensuring cleanliness of all areas, and upholding the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. This role supports departmental leadership in all activities necessary for the successful operation of the Pool and Fitness areas. While no job description can provide a comprehensive list of duties, the following outlines the major responsibilities of the position.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in training new Pool and Fitness Center colleagues on operational duties, including guest engagement, retail awareness, and service standards.

  • Responsible for assisting with shift coverage for Pool and Fitness Center colleagues as needed.

  • Support leadership by coaching colleagues to take on additional responsibility and develop leadership skills within pool and fitness operations.

  • Assist in coordinating and executing corporate, social, and group-related activities associated with the pool and fitness areas.

  • Support accurate inventory control and quality control for retail merchandise, operating supplies, equipment, towels, and linens used in the Pool and Health Club.

  • Monitor retail inventory levels, support product organization and presentation, and assist leadership with replenishment needs and inventory accuracy.

  • Actively support revenue generation by coaching colleagues on retail awareness, suggestive selling techniques, and thoughtful upselling aligned with guest needs and service expectations.

  • Supervise and assist colleagues with cleanliness and organization throughout all pool and fitness areas, including locker rooms, fitness spaces, retail displays, pool deck, and Health Club facilities.

  • Oversee guest check-in and check-out processes related to the Pool and Health Club, including retail transactions, cabana coordination, and amenity offerings when applicable.

  • Maintain awareness of fitness offerings, pool programming, retail products, and seasonal amenities to enhance guest engagement and drive revenue.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel programming related to the pool and health club.

  • Ensure colleagues meet departmental dress, grooming, and Forbes service standards.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a culture of wellness, hospitality, teamwork, and sales accountability.

  • Attend internal meetings, trainings, and events as required.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
