Job description

We are seeking an experienced Policy Administration Specialist to support the daily operations of our Individual Life & Health insurance administration platform. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate policy processing, collaborating with our software development team to enhance system functionality, and participating in system testing and implementation efforts.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of life and health insurance operations and enjoys working at the intersection of insurance business processes and technology. This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth, including involvement in system projects, process improvements, and future project management responsibilities.
Must be able to work on-site in our Lake Mary, Florida office. This is not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support policy administration activities including new business, policy changes, reinstatements, billing, and other policy servicing functions.

  • Work closely with the company’s software development/programming team to review system enhancements, identify operational needs, and ensure accurate implementation of business requirements.

  • Participate in system testing (UAT) for new features, updates, and regulatory changes within the policy administration platform.

  • Document business requirements, operational workflows, and system functionality to support development and future improvements.

  • Assist in identifying process improvements and system efficiencies within policy administration operations.

  • Help troubleshoot and resolve operational or system-related issues affecting policy processing.

  • Support implementation of new insurance products, forms, and system features.

  • Communicate effectively between business users and technical teams to ensure successful system enhancements.

  • Participate in special projects and system initiatives with opportunities to grow into project coordination and project management roles.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in life and health insurance policy administration or insurance operations.

  • Experience working with insurance policy administration systems.

  • Experience collaborating with software development teams or IT departments on system enhancements or testing.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex policy data accurately.

  • Ability to translate business needs into clear operational or system requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Progress toward or completion of FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) or other industry designations.

  • Experience participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system releases or enhancements.

  • Exposure to insurance system implementations or operational projects.

  • Interest in developing project management and operational leadership skills.
