Job description

Job Title: Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician
Location: Bloomington, MN | On-Site
Employment Type: 1st Shift (7am - 3pm) Monday - FridayAbout the Role

We are seeking a skilled and self-directed Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the critical infrastructure of our 24/7 cleanroom manufacturing facility. In this role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal production disruption. Your work will directly support semiconductor manufacturing operations by maintaining ultrapure water, HVAC, pH neutralization, compressed air, and other plant systems essential to a safe and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain plant systems in accordance with engineering specifications.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on facilities equipment to support cleanroom manufacturing.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for facilities maintenance issues and service requests.

  • Use the building management system (BMS) to respond to alarms and monitor facility performance.

  • Oversee and track spare parts inventory to ensure uninterrupted system operation.

  • Complete all assigned PMs and work orders through the automated CMMS system.

  • Maintain accurate documentation to support safety, environmental, and quality standards including CQI, 5S, and cost-containment initiatives.

  • Work in ultrapure water (UPW) plant areas, wearing appropriate PPE including chemical protective garments.

  • Perform daily facility rounds and readings to identify abnormal operating conditions.

  • Support general building maintenance, cleanroom operations, mechanical areas, and rooftop equipment as needed.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and proactively address potential safety hazards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired:
  • 2 years of vocational/technical education

  • Minimum of 10 years of facilities, maintenance, or relevant on-the-job experience

  • Experience working in a cleanroom or similar controlled environment

  • Knowledge of ultrapure water systems, pH neutralization systems, and industrial waste/hazardous waste programs

  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms and automation systems

  • Strong math and computer skills

  • Ability to work with hand tools, shop equipment, and lift up to 80 lbs periodically

  • Ability to work across all facility areas including mechanical spaces, exterior locations, and rooftops

  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours issues

Preferred:
  • Experience with semiconductor facility operations

  • HVAC or mechanical systems certification

  • Additional technical training or licensure related to plant systems
