Job description

About MaintainX

MaintainX is the world's leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. We help over 13,000 customers - including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo - reduce unplanned downtime and run more efficient operations.

In July 2025 we closed a $150M Series D led by Bessemer Venture Partners, bringing our total funding to $254M at a $2.5B valuation. We were named to the 2025 Forbes Cloud 100, recognized as a Forbes America's Best Startup Employers 2025, and ranked #1 in EAM and CMMS on G2's Summer 2025 report (perfect 100 satisfaction score).

The market we serve is changing fast: 68% of industrial companies have the same or more downtime than in 2024, and the frontline workforce - 80% of the global workforce, not working behind a desk - is why we build.

The Role

Enterprise clients bring complex operational problems to MaintainX, and the PMO Manager ensures they leave with measurable outcomes. You'll lead a team of project managers and solutions consultants delivering professional services to our largest clients - and build the systems that let that delivery scale.

  • Own delivery outcomes across the enterprise PS portfolio: projects land on time, in scope, and with client satisfaction that drives retention and expansion.
  • Build and continuously improve the PMO's playbooks, tooling, and templates so delivery quality scales without requiring you in every conversation.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions in pre-sales to scope, resource, and plan enterprise engagements before they start - turning ambiguous client needs into executable delivery plans.
  • Run the portfolio view: track utilization, profitability, and risk across all active engagements; act as the escalation point on complex or at-risk accounts.
  • Develop your team - coaching PMs and solutions consultants to grow in craft, confidence, and client impact.

At 6-12 months, success looks like: consistent on-time delivery, a PMO that operates without you in every room, and a team that is visibly stronger.

You Have

Must-haves:

  • 7+ years of project/program management experience in a professional services or consulting environment
  • 3+ years leading a PMO or managing a team of project managers
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification
  • Proven track record managing multiple complex, client-facing enterprise engagements simultaneously
  • Experience acting as an executive-level escalation point - you've navigated difficult client relationships and brought them back
  • Fluency in the financial mechanics of services delivery: utilization, margin, forecasting, contract compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with PSA tools (Mavenlink, FinancialForce, or NetSuite OpenAir)
  • Agile certification (CSM, SAFe) or equivalent

We Offer

  • Competitive base + variable comp aligned to role and location
  • Meaningful equity in a high-growth, post-Series D company
  • Day-1 benefits coverage - health, dental, vision (TriNet/BCBS)
  • Unlimited PTO - we actually take it
  • $500 home office stipend $1K annual L&D budget
  • Hybrid in-office at our Raleigh hub

How We Work

We hire for what you've delivered, not what your title was. We expect high ownership, clear communication, and the judgment to act without needing a manager in the room. In return: real career trajectory, fast promotions for strong performers, and a team that genuinely cares about the mission.

We work alongside people who reflect the MaintainX values - Smart, Humble, Optimist - and we believe strong ideas, clearly argued and honestly executed, win.

MaintainX is committed to creating a diverse environment. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
