Role Overview
With the continued growth of the company, we are currently looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to provide technical pre-sales support on radio communications system opportunities for Public Safety, Industrial, Transportation and Utility markets. The Solutions Engineers will be responsible for maintaining a knowledge base and skill-set across multiple manufacturer product lines and technologies such as P25, DMR, Analog Radio Systems, Dispatch Consoles , Microwave Backhaul, DC Power Systems, Radio Antenna Systems, Voice Logging Recorders, and Paging Systems.
 
Please be aware that this position may require the ability to obtain a security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
  • Generation of radio communications system quotations based on customer requirements. This will include aspects of system design, product knowledge, and spreadsheet data formatting and manipulation.
  • Technical lead in responding to Request for Proposals (RFP). Responsible for preliminary system design, creation of technical write ups, system drawings, and pricing.
  • Technical Liaison between the Customers and Manufacturers.
  • Performs market industry research into new products and technologies.
  • Research and respond to technical inquiries across various product lines.
  • Assists with product demonstrations in support of sales opportunities.
  •  Create Radio Coverage Designs using software propagation tools.
  • Develops and maintains templates for proposals, system descriptions, engineering drawings, and test procedures.
  • Provides technical sales training to our Partners and Sales Teams on new products and engineering tools.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technical field. Preferred emphasis: Wireless Communications.
  • 8+years in technical services and/or pre-sales support.
  • Proven experience delivering frontline technical pre-sales support for customers, dealers, and partners.
  • Demonstration of innovation and depth of knowledge.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain knowledge of a wide portfolio of solutions as the technical expert for multiple product sets.
  • Ability to work effectively in situations with ambiguity, while maintaining a sense of urgency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstration of communications across multiple levels in an organization.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint are desired.
  • Knowledge of RF propagation, wireless, microwave, and/or telecommunications networks a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed in regional area (estimate 25%).
