Freestone Property Group is an affiliate of Greenbrook Partners, a leading investment manager with over $2 billion in assets under management (AUM) and a portfolio encompassing more than 2,000 multifamily units across New York City.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Property Manager supports the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of residential properties. This role is responsible for coordinating maintenance, managing resident communication, supporting leasing and collections efforts, and ensuring operational processes are executed efficiently and consistently. The APM plays a critical role in maintaining resident satisfaction, supporting occupancy goals, and driving overall property performance. This position will be fully remote until the company opens an office in Houston; at that time, the role will become hybrid.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Resident Relations & Communication
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents

  • Respond to inquiries, concerns, and service requests in a timely and professional manner

  • Maintain consistent follow-up to ensure issues are resolved

Maintenance Coordination
  • Manage and track all work orders from submission through completion

  • Coordinate with maintenance staff and vendors to ensure timely resolution

  • Prioritize emergency vs. routine repairs

  • Monitor recurring issues and escalate when necessary

Leasing & Occupancy Support
  • Ensure vacant units are turned and ready for leasing in a timely manner

Collections & Delinquency
  • Support rent collection efforts, including outreach to residents with balances

  • Work with internal teams on legal escalation when necessary

Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate resident records and documentation

  • Support subsidy programs where applicable

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations

Operational Support
  • Assist the Property Manager with daily operations and reporting

  • Track key performance metrics (occupancy, delinquency, work orders, turn times)

  • Support implementation of new processes, systems, and initiatives

Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with property management, leasing, and maintenance.

  • Provide feedback on community needs, suggestions, and resident concerns.

  • Help ensure community standards and procedures are consistently upheld.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Adapt to evolving company priorities by supporting all operational needs as they arise.

  • Respond promptly to emergency situations by coordinating with residents, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Provide back-up support to other properties within the portfolio during staff absences or periods of high demand.

  • Take on additional varied responsibilities as directed to support overall community success.

  • Occasional weekend and evening working hours may be required.

  • Abide by all laws and regulations.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary ($45,000 - $50,000) plus 20% performance-based bonus potential (paid quarterly)

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, hospitality, property management, or administrative roles
