Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Player Development Host identifies, develops and creates relationships with Sky Ute Casino Resort gaming patrons.  Facilitates VIP events that enhance the overall gaming experience.  Fosters an environment that results in generating gaming related revenue measured by more trips and increased spending.  Assists with all facets of the Sky Ute Casino Resort Bear Club and Player’s Center as needed.  Reports directly to the Player Development Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Generates gaming revenue for the Casino.
  2. Creates a value for a gamer and analyzes growth potential.
  3. Identifies high-value players or potential high-value players.
  4. Develops and nurtures strong, lasting relationships with VIP players.
  5. Executes sales strategies to grow the revenue contributions of VIP players.
  6. Understands and displays excellent guest service.
  7. Effectively handles guest conflict resolution.
  8. Understands all aspects of player tracking software and ability to run all necessary reports in order to analyze data.
  9. Maintains staffing of the VIP office.
  10. Hosts VIP events both on and off site.
  11. Coordinates and work closely with marketing department for all pre/post VIP events and activities.
  12. Assists with tournaments and promotions.
  13. Analyzes accounts for growth potential.
  14. Fills VIP events with targeted players.
  15. Telemarkets offers and visits to players of likely growth.
  16. Notifies VIP guests through telemarketing, emails and direct mail pieces about services available, promotional opportunities, and special events to assure guest retention and repeat business
  17. Performs guest research.
  18. Ensures compliance with all applicable gaming regulations.
  19. Demonstrates excellent attendance and safety performance.
  20. Ensures and promotes security, maintenance and accountability for all Sky Ute Casino Resort assets under departmental control.
  21. Ensures fair and equitable treatment of all Casino guests while on duty.
  22. Assists Players Club Representatives at Player’s Club when needed.
  23. Occasionally may be assigned to drive company vehicles on public roads, to and from, the Sky Ute Casino Resort and/or other destinations, during shift.
  24. Must be organized and plan events appropriately so marketing collateral can be put together in appropriate amount of time for players.
  25. Maintains up to date knowledge in all aspects of the Players Club Representative position.
  26. Performs any other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalency.  
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be insurable with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.
  • College degree is preferred.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience in front of house casino operations; Gaming (slot/tables), Marketing, Player Development preferred, or at least four years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel and database skills preferred in marketing database systems.
  • Must be creative and assist with special event planning, such as themed events, slot tournaments and off-property high profile events.
  • Must obtain TIPS certification within first 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to inform effectively in a one-on-one situation, with customers or other employees.
  • Must be comfortable with speaking to small and large groups over 100; including intercom/PA system, and willingness to act as Master of Ceremonies for promotions, events and tournaments.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate in a positive manner at all times with customers.
  • Must have computer experience and be proficient in database management.
  • Must be a self-motivated hard worker with an attention to detail.
  • Must have a pleasing, customer service oriented personality along with superior people skills.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines established by the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Must have demonstrated prior excellent attendance and safety performance.
  • Must always remain sensitive to cultural diversity in the work place.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including personnel data, gaming regulations and compliance.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must be able to identify problems, gathers data, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion.
  • Must be able to exhibit confidence in judgment and decision making.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple priorities successfully.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Frequently uses a telephone and computer for scheduling, reporting, accessing Marketing/Sales data and communicating.
  • Must have good vision, hearing, manual dexterity and flexibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have excellent attendance.
  • Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment.
  • Must be able to work under close surveillance cameras.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Candidate selected for employment will be subject to pre-employment drug test, employment reference and background check.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Southern Ute Division of Gaming Support license.
  • Responsible for maintaining TIPS certification.
  • Must sign confidentiality agreement at time of hire.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times to include personnel data, gaming regulations and compliance, and department information.
  • Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino’s policies and procedures, Gaming code regulations and any applicable policies and regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.
