Assistant Coach - Softball for the 2026-2027 season for Valley High School, Gilcrest, CO.

The Valley High School Softball Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the school's competitive softball program, including developing student-athletes' and team skill/strategies to compete in the strong Patriot League Conference, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and promoting a positive, competitive culture aligned with our Athletic Department values of integrity, accountability, commitment, and discipline. The coach assists with plans and conducts competitive practices, oversees game preparation and strategy, supervises and evaluates assistant coaches, and ensures compliance with school, district, and CHSAA policies/bylaws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: building strong fundamental skills and competitive team strategies, supporting academic success, modeling strong character and leadership, promoting athlete safety and well-being (physical and mental health), organizing offseason development opportunities, scheduling transportation, leading fundraising efforts, overseeing the program budget, maintaining a yearly inventory, and building positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community. The Coach also assists with program promotion, player development at all levels (including a relationship with middle school and rec feeder programs), and the long-term growth and sustainability of the program. Previous high school coaching experience is encouraged but not a requirement.
